Design, Build and Commissioning of a 25,000 tonnes per year in-vessel composting plant. The facility is designed to process a mixture of Food and Garden Organics (FOGO).
Scope of works consist of 4 composting tunnels and central air and water management systems. All controlled and monitored through WTT’s fully automated SCADA system, ensuring the composting system meets Australian Standards and EPA requirements.
It means food and green organic waste produced by Tweed Heads residents will not end up in landfill and will instead produce high-grade compost.
By reducing the amount of waste going to landfill, the facility is expected to abate more than 13,500 tons tons of CO2-e emissions per year the equivalent of removing almost 2,900 cars from the road per year.
