MECBIO was commissioned by Repurpose It to design and build a Vessel Organic Waste composting facility in Epping, Melbourne in addition to the already built facility. The facility can process 45,000 tonnes per year of food and green organics (FOGO) wastes to be converted to high-grade compost. MECBIO is responsible for the design, supply, on site supervision of the installation, and commissioning and training of the process technique and air control system. This project is in line with the commitment of Repurpose It and MECBIO to drive the circular economy by creating new avenues to recycle and repurpose waste into new streams of use.
